Please help to secure the future of the Transporter Bridge

Abseil the bridge this Saturday!

There are a number of places left for the charity abseil this Saturday. The aim is to recruit 40 participants in total and they will be named “Ferdi’s fab 40” after the French bridge designer Ferdinand Arnodin. The abseil is taking place on Saturday 26th March between 8am and 2pm. You will be allocated a time within this period.  All participants will need to raise a minimum of £75 with all funds raised contributing towards our community engagement programme, helping us to bring the history of the bridge to life. Please email transporter.bridge@newport.gov.uk for further information and confirmation of participation.

Good luck!

Annual General Meeting – a message from the Chairman

The Committee has decided that, in the present circumstances, there is no point trying to arrange any sort of AGM. Instead, we will publish the Examined Annual Accounts, Minutes of last AGM and Chairman’s Report in the Spring Journal. We are not inclined to set another date but rather let the AGM lapse for a year. If any Member disagrees please let me know. This doesn’t mean that no-one can resign from the Committee, although I hope none will. Likewise, new members can be co-opted

Meanwhile, we are clearing the Visitor Centre, ahead of its demolition.

With best regards ~ David
